Mission

To push the limits of dance through choreography, outreach, accessibility, and inclusion.

History

Violet Ballet was founded as a nonprofit in October 2025 with the goal of making dance more inclusive, accessible, and relatable. The company seeks to uplift voices that have been previously silenced, especially those of women and queer individuals.

The company produced its first show, Ebbs & Flows, in June 2026 in Durham, NC. Preparations are currently being made for the start of season two!
